Leverkusen by the Rhine: Unexpected Photo Opportunities

Leverkusen may not be known for its beauty, but the Rhine adds a certain charm to the city. On my way back from a business meeting in the Bergisches Land, a traffic jam on the A1 led me to make an unplanned stop by the river. It turned out to be a worthwhile detour, as I captured the sunset with the industrial skyline of the chemical plants and the distinctive A1 bridge in the background.

For those interested in photographing this area, there’s convenient parking near the restaurant Die Wacht am Rhein. While Leverkusen itself may not impress, the Rhine certainly makes up for it.
